Photokina 2006 - Less On Cameras - More On Getting The Best Out Of Them

Photokina (Cologne 26 Sept ? 1 Oct) is the premier bi-annual photographic event in Europe. I was helping Innova Art on its stand, see later.

The major companies had scaled down their operations: - they were making less money ? and really there was little new. Sony of course was making a splash following their acquisition of part of Konica Minolta?s business. Fuji had a new look ? and a very natty feature on its new range of cameras ? face detection. Out ? Konica Minolta. Out ? Agfa. Out ? Polaroid. Nothing too exciting from Kodak, Pentax, Olympus, Panasonic etc. ? at least in the consumer/prosumer markets which Incartek tracks.

Nokia and Ericsson made a push. Admittedly the results from the 3.2m pixel smartphones such as the Nokia 93 look impressive and as they said at the Nokia press conference. ?The best camera that you have is the one you have with you?.

In Hall 4.1 the key word was ?Workflow?. Get the best picture easily and quickly ? whether you are rookie amateur or a seasoned pro. We were looking at this area intently ? looking for software which clients can bundle with their paper and ink offerings ? or sell in their own right ? to get people printing more and consuming more ink and paper.

Hall 10.1 featured paper and output. Innova Art's stand was very active The TIPA-award winning FibaPrint papers, now with matt and satin finished as well as gloss and a range of new digital canvas products were in demand, as were the alums. Many other stands showed minilab based binding systems for use by minilabs with good ase of use and quality (if expensive) output.

Zuca Sport Mobile Wheeled Luggage Complete Set - Calypso Turquoise Brown with Dark Brown Frame Plus Bonus Travel Groove Universal Ipod & MP3 Accessory Kit

Zuca Sport Mobile Wheeled Luggage Complete Set - Calypso Turquoise Brown with Dark Brown Frame Plus Bonus Travel Groove Universal Ipod & MP3 Accessory Kit
The Frame: - Dimensions: 18" Tall x 14" Long x 10" Wide (12" wide with wheels) - Light and strong 3003-H14 aluminum alloy - Telescoping Handle constructed of tensile strength aircraft aluminum - Handle telescopes to a height of 38" - Safely rated at a 300 lb. capacity - Holes in the frame make it lighter while not compromising structural integrity About The Bag: ZÜCA makes the bags from many fabrics but the basic bags in black red and navy are premium 600 Denier Polyester that have been coated on the inside with polyurethane to improve water resistance and seam strength. The bag is water resistant to a point, but should not be left out in a steady rain with stuff inside that should not get wet. ZÜCA uses a very strong type of Velcro (it comes in different adhesive levels) so that the bag is unlikely to come undone due to the interior load pulling on it. About The Wheels: The wheels are 4" polyurethane formulated to absorb a great deal of the shock of hitting a curb, and to make the wheel silent over rough surfaces. ZÜCA makes their own wheels so that they can control the quality of the urethane in the wheel. The flashing mechanism uses no batteries and is powered by a small generator or "magneto" inside the wheel. The magneto rotor is in the wheel and contains a coil of wire wrapped around steel plates. The wire is connected to the LED's, and as the plates pass the magnets in the stationary armature, a small burst of electricity is generated and the LED flashes. The faster you go, the brighter it gets. And what's up with the upper wheels? They are there to make curbs and stairs easy and eliminate the BANG-SCRAPE sound. They don't light up, so if you want to be stealth you can switch uppers for lowers. Our Package also includes the tensile strength aircraft aluminum steel frame. + Plus + as a Bonus receive our Universal Ipod and MP3 Deluxe Gift Set.

Customer Review: Nice Pouch..

Well made, nice camera pouch and lots of room. Velcro belt loop is ingenious, wonder why only Mountainsmith thought of it. It might not look as pretty as others, but functionality, you can't beat it.
